Most international car hire companies of a certain size are represented in Denmark, most of them with branches all over the country. In addition to these, a number of local car hire offices can be found. Almost all models and types can be rented. Depending on model and type, the rental for a day would lie somewhere between DKK 450 and 850, to which must be added fee per kilometre and insurance. Most companies have special week-end offers with reductions during the period Friday afternoon to Monday morning. For foreigners, special 'Hotel rates' are often available which as a rule offer excemption from the kilometre fee.
Minimum age for hiring a car in Denmark is 21 years, but car hire companies may stipulate individual limits up to 28 years, depending on the category of the car, you want to hire. If you are younger than 23 years of age, some companies will require you to pay a young driver's fee of DKK 50 a day. You must have driven a car for at least 6 to 12 months (varies from car hire company to car hire company), and you must also be able to show a valid driving licence.
Most companies require that hirers from abroad hold an international credit card.
