Royal twin baptism in Denmark
The youngest son and daughter to Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark were baptized at the Church of Holmen in Copenhagen on 14 April 2011.
The young son was baptized Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander to Denmark. And the young daughter was named Princess Josephine Sofia Ivalo Mathilda to Denmark. The names of the twins have up until the baptism been well-guarded secrets.
The baptism took place at 15:30 local time and the distinguished guests sailed from the church, which is located by one of the city’s picturesque canals, to the royal palace, Amalienborg Palace, where the Crown Prince and Crown Princess will hold a reception at the Frederik VIII Manor. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have two older children, Prince Christian aged 5 and Princess Isabella aged 3. They were both present at the baptism.
